Frequently asked questions

Is DroneDeploy the right fit
 for your operations?

Who should book a demo?

Anyone evaluating drone or ground capture for their program is the right fit. That includes project managers, program directors, operations leaders, VDC managers, safety directors and executives across construction, energy, mining, infrastructure and agriculture. IT and security teams are welcome whenever compliance or enterprise integration is part of the evaluation. If you are unsure whether DroneDeploy fits your program, a 30-minute demo will answer that.

What will I see in a demo?

Step 1: Discovery – Someone from our team will reach out to understand your use cases, success criteria and current workflow. You'll also get an initial sense of pricing at this stage.

Step 2: Platform demo – We'll schedule a personalized session with a solutions engineer who walks through the product relevant to your program and answers your questions directly.

Step 3: Field trial – We can then come to your site to capture it from both ground and air so you can evaluate DroneDeploy against real data from your own project.

Step 4: Data review and pricing – Once you've seen your site in the platform, we'll have a clear shared understanding of the value and walk through precise pricing for your program.

Who should attend from our team?

Bring whoever is involved in evaluating or using the platform. That typically means a project manager, superintendent or VDC lead plus whoever owns the technology or procurement decision. There is no minimum – a solo evaluator is fine, and there is no wrong person to include. IT or security representation is useful when compliance is part of the evaluation.

Is there a free trial or pilot option?

Yes. DroneDeploy offers structured pilots for teams that want to test the platform against a real project before signing a full contract. Your account executive will scope the pilot during or after the demo – covering timeline, deliverables and what a successful outcome looks like for your program.

How quickly can we be live after the demo?

Most customers are capturing and processing data within the same day of signing. There is no lengthy implementation or professional services requirement for standard deployments. Your account team will give you a realistic go-live timeline based on your hardware and program at the end of the demo.

Is DroneDeploy secure and compliant?

DroneDeploy is SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 certified, ISO 27001 compliant and meets PCI/DSS, Privacy Shield and GDPR requirements. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Infrastructure runs on AWS and Google Cloud with 24/7 monitoring. Programs using DJI dock hardware can route all drone data through US-controlled servers with DroneDeploy Firewall, blocking third-party endpoints entirely. Penetration testing results and detailed security documentation are available under NDA for enterprise reviews.

We already use Procore, Autodesk or other project management tools. Does DroneDeploy connect?

Yes. DroneDeploy has native integrations with Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud, plus more than 80 platforms in the marketplace including Esri ArcGIS, Salesforce, Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage and Azure. Teams with custom systems can connect through the open REST API.

We do not have drones or a drone program yet. Can we still use DroneDeploy?

No drones required to get started. DroneDeploy’s Data on Demand service dispatches a certified, insured pilot to your site on request – typically within a week – and delivers processed data ready to use in the platform. Teams building an in-house program can use Data on Demand in the interim while hardware is procured and pilots are certified.
